Gavin Wollacott

Gavin Wollacott is an Advanced Clinical Practitioner and Lecturer in Advanced Practice at the University of Plymouth’s Faculty of Health. In his role as Program Lead for the Independent and Supplementary Prescribing Program, he oversees the training and accreditation of prescribers, while also lecturing on apprenticeship programs like Advanced Professional Practice (Clinical Practitioner) and Advanced Clinical Practitioner.

Simultaneously, Gavin maintains clinical practice within the NHS, specialising in urgent care and out-of-hours services. He brings real-world expertise into the classroom as a lecturer. Gavin is a committed advocate of interprofessional learning—working across nursing, paramedicine, and allied health disciplines to cultivate advanced consultation, diagnostic, and decision-making skills. As a member of the Association for Prescribers, and as an accredited prescriber under the Nursing and Midwifery Council, his work contributes directly to raising the profile and professionalism of advanced practice across all professions.
